Federated has consistently recommended USA500™ because of its effectiveness as a liquid starter additive; it has proven itself over and over again.
“USA500 contains a full rate of 9% EDTA chelated zinc, as well as phosphorus protection,” said Cody Lezer, manager at Federated’s Ogilvie location.
This starter additive promotes early season root growth and vigor in the early growth stages of the corn plant. “It also helps release the phosphorus that it tied up on the soil to help make it more soluble for the plant,” said Lezer.
USA500 provides 5% nitrogen (N) and 6% zinc (Z), the latter of which is less readily available to young plants – especially in colder soils due to slow mineralization of soil organic matter. Cooler temperatures also inhibit plant roots from finding the zinc in the soil solution. The EDTA chelated zinc in USA500 helps minimize those possibilities.
USA500 can be mixed with any liquid starter fertilizer at a rate of 48 oz./ac. to increase the availability of nitrogen, sulfur, and other nutrients. Add USA500 to your 10-34-0 bulk tank or at the planter to promote higher yields.
